The meeting had been held at the Council Chambers, State House, Abuja.

Zimbabwe Nixes Coup Rumours

National Security Council (NSC) of Zimbabwe has debunked rumours of an impending military coup, saying the country is stable.

The NSC at a maiden news conference accused allies of the late former leader Robert Mugabe and some opposition officials for peddling the rumour.

Zimbabwe’s worst economic crisis in more than a decade and rising public anger have stoked concern the military, which ended Mugabe’s more than three-decades rule in November 2017, might step in again.
