15 Persons Drown In Borno River, Corpses Recovered – NEMA

Reports reaching the desk of Africa Daily New, New York has it that no fewer than 15 corpses have been recovered from the flooded River Ngadabul in Maiduguri, Borno State.

The North East Coordinator, National Emergency Management Agency, Muhammad Usman, confirmed the development on Wednesday, during an interview with the newsmen in Maiduguri.

Usman revealed that the cases of people who drown in the flooded river that affected many communities along its banks in Maiduguri had been on the increase in recent times which has become worrisome.

NEMA Clears Air Over Hoisting Of Saudi Arabian Flag

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), has responded to rumours making the rounds that it hoisted the Saudi Arabian flag to Islamize Nigeria.
The agency’s Head of Press and Public Relations, Manzo Ezekiel, in a statement which was made available to Africa Daily News, New York, explained that the flag was temporarily hoisted at the launching of NEMA’s newly upgraded Emergency Call Centre, which was partly supported the Saudi Arabian government.

NEMA Gives Details Of Lagos Explosion Casualties

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) on Friday gave its impact assessment of Thursday’s gas explosion in Lagos.

At about 3:05 pm on Thursday, a gas tanker which was trying to enter Cerato Gas Plant located in Iju suddenly went up in flames.

According to Mr Ibrahim Farinloye, acting Zonal Coordinator (NEMA), 44 persons sustained varying degrees of injuries in the incident.

NEMA Receives 161 Nigerians From Libya

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has received another batch of 161 stranded Nigerians from Mtiga in Libya.

The acting Coordinator, Lagos Territorial Office, NEMA, Mr Ibrahim Farinloye, received the returnees on Thursday night in Lagos.

Farinloye said that the Nigerians arrived the Cargo Wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, late on Thursday night.

According to him, the returnees were brought via Al Buraq Air Boeing 737 aircraft with flight number UZ 189 and registration number 5A-DMG.
