Marwa Makes Case For Drug Tests For NYSC Members

In a bid to intensify efforts in the ongoing war against drug abuse in the country, the Chairman/Chief Executive of theNational Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (retd), has called for a mandatory drug test for youth corps members as they report for national service at the various orientation camps across the country.

Marwa made the call when he hosted the Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brig. Gen. Mohammed Fadah, who led his management team on a courtesy visit to the NDLEA headquarters, in Abuja, on Thursday.

Court Orders Kyari, Six Others’ Detention For 14 More Days

A Federal High Court in Abuja, yesterday granted the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) permission to further detain the suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari, and six others for 14 days.

Africa Daily News, New York reports that others to be detained alongside Kyari are the alleged drug couriers named in the drug trafficking case involving the suspended head of the Inspector-General of Police Intelligence Response Team.

Justice Zainab Abubakar gave the order for the detention of the seven suspects pending the completion of investigation into the allegations against them.
