ASUU NEC To Take Decision On Strike Sunday

The National Executive Council (NEC) of the striking Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) resolved to meet on Sunday, August 28, 2022, to reach a decision on whether to suspend or continue with the industrial action.

Africa Daily News, New York reports that the meeting is slated to hold at the union’s national headquarters at the University of Abuja.

It was further gathered that the council will take a decision on the industrial action based on reports from the various state congresses.

Wednesday has seen some of the members of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC kicking-off their mega rally which is being held in Abuja to press home their request for the Federal Government of Nigeria to openly accede to some of the demands which had been raised by the unions within the Nigerian university system.
