
Pharaoh’s ‘Solar Boat’ Moved To Egyptian Museum
The oldest and largest surviving Pharaohs commissioned solar boats which were intended to be taken to the afterlife have instead been transported 7.5 kilometers (5 miles) away to a new museum.
According to a statement released by the country’s Tourism and Antiquities Ministry on Saturday, they stated that King Khufu’s 4,600-year-old solar boat, intended to bring him to heaven, was instead transported a few kilometers to a new antiquities museum.
The 42-meter-long (138-foot), the 20-ton vessel made of cedarwood was brought to the soon-to-open Grand Egyptian Museum inside a metal cage on a remote-controlled vehicle imported from Belgium for the
