Lagos Speaker Obasa Visits Pen Cinema, Fagba Police Unit, TVC

The Speaker, Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, on Saturday led other members on a fact-finding visit to areas and facilities destroyed by hoodlums during the peaceful protest against the disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).

Obasa, who is also the Chairman, Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures in Nigeria, visited the ravaged palace of the Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu, and the Isokoko Police Station.

More trouble may be brewing for Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, as the Supreme Court of Nigeria has revealed that there was no record of him as a lawyer in their registry.

The apex court keeps records of all certified lawyers allowed to handle cases in any Nigerian court.

Obasa’s profile on Wikipedia and the Lagos Assembly’s website describes him as a lawyer and solicitor of the Federal Republic of Nigeria even though there is no mention of where he practiced or a case he handled.

Lagos Speaker Mudashiru Obasa on Saturday appeared before a panel of enquiry set up by the House of Assembly to probe corruption allegations levelled against him by an online medium.

Obasa told the panel that the allegations were untrue and that it was the handiwork of his enemies.
