Regulatory Bodies: Fashola Cautions ARCON Committee

Mr Babatunde Fashola who is the Minister of Works and Housing has openly warned a management committee which was set up by the Architects Registration Council of Nigeria (ARCON) against trying to overrule and usurp the powers of its regulatory body.

He gave this statement on Monday.

The Management Committee of ARCON is a transition committee created by law to undertake ARCON’s routine management upon expiration of tenure of its statutory council and pending constitution of a new board.

Fashola Discovers Mystery Camera At Lekki Toll Gate (Video)

The Minister for Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Fashola on Sunday, discovered a hidden camera at the Lekki Toll Gate, Admiralty Circle, in Lagos.

Fashola, led a Federal Government delegation on the directive of President Muhammadu Buhari to commiserate with the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu over the loss of lives and destruction of properties in the violence that rocked the state last week.

Those in the Federal Government’s entourage include Ministers of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, Mines and Industries, Olamilekan Adegbite, Niyi Adebayo, Trade and Investments and Olorunnibe Mamora, Health state.

Nigeria Is Relatively Young At 60 – Fashola

Nigeria’s Minister of Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Fashola, said on Thursday that the country is relatively young as it celebrates its 60th Independence anniversary.

The minister stated this while speaking at “The PlatformNG60” organised by Covenant Christian Centre in Lagos, anchored by Pastor Poju Oyemade.

According to him, the country’s infrastructure deficit was due to under investments.

Fashola said the government was committed at expanding infrastructure in spite of the drop in oil revenue, noting that 671 road and bridge construction were ongoing in the country.

Fashola Tasks Vice Chancellors To Woo Investors

The Minister of Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Fashola has underscored the need for Nigerian Universities to provide well structured plans on the creation of infrastructure in their campuses to woo investors.

He made this assertion when the Association of Vice Chancellors of Nigerian Universities led by it’s Secretary General, Prof. Yakubu Ochefu paid him a courtesy visit in Abuja on Tuesday.
