Trump Says US Targeting 52 Sites In Iran As Tension Mounts

President Donald Trump warned Saturday that the US is targeting 52 sites in Iran and will hit them “very fast and very hard” if the Islamic republic attacks American personnel or assets.

In a saber-rattling tweet that defended Friday’s US drone strike assassination of a powerful Iranian general in Iraq, Trump said 52 represents the number of Americans held hostage at the US embassy in Tehran for more than a year starting in late 1979.

Trump said some of these sites are “at a very high level & important to Iran & the Iranian culture, and those targets, and Iran …

Egypt’s Under-23 Coach, Shawky Gharib, has admitted it is too early to decide if Liverpool forward, Mohamed Salah, will be one of his overage players at next year’s Olympics.

This is coming as a new report has revealed that only Lagos, Rivers and Akwa Ibom …

Mali President On The Ropes As Jihadist Revolt Mounts

Malian President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita has few strong cards left to play as he seeks to roll back a jihadist insurgency and mounting public discontent.

Thousands of civilians and soldiers have died since armed Islamists began their revolt in northern Mali in 2012 — a campaign that has spread to the country’s volatile centre and to neighbouring Burkina Faso.

The failure of Mali’s poorly-equipped and the demoralised military is now sparking an outcry, shaking confidence in Keita’s government.

Relatives of dozens of troops killed in twin attacks in central Mali took to the streets on October 2 to accuse the …

Cracks In Republican Dam As Frustration With Trump Mounts

Cracks In Republican Dam As Frustration With Trump Mounts

Fissures are emerging among Republican lawmakers over US President Donald Trump, who is threatened with impeachment, as his troop withdrawal from Syria and abortive push to host the G7 at his own resort cause increasing dismay.

Trump’s self-inflicted wounds are making it harder for some Republicans to remain quiet or unwaveringly loyal during what could be an inflection point in his presidency.

Democrats are readying articles of impeachment, the catalyst being Trump’s July phone call to his Ukrainian counterpart in which he urged the European ally to investigate his political rivals.

No sitting Republican lawmaker has publicly expressed their …
