Bandits yesterday attacked a Jumuat Mosque in Zugu community of Gummi local government area of Zamfara state and abducted dozens of worshippers in a move that has sparked massive outrage.

Residents who spoke to reporters shortly after the attacked narrated that the armed men hid their guns inside their clothes and stormed the mosque when the Imam was about to start delivering sermon.

According to reports the marauders reportedly told those outside the mosque to go inside.

Boko Haram Bombs Gwoza, Borno Mosque

Twin suicide bombers linked to the Boko Haram sect attacked a mosque in Gwoza, Borno state, on Sunday, killing a 12-year-old child and leaving many people injured.

A security source, who disclosed this to TheCable, said the suicide bombers forced their way into the mosque while prayer was ongoing.

The source said before some persons in the neighbourhood raised the alarm, the attackers had already gained entry into the mosque.

84yr Old Arrested For Trying To Burn Down Mosque

84-year-old Claude Sinké was arrested by France security on Monday after he allegedly shot and injured two Muslim worshippers at a mosque in Bayonne, south-western France.

The suspect according to report was trying to burn down the mosque during the time he inflicted the harms on the victims.

Sinké was a former election candidate for Marine Le Pen’s far-Right National Rally. He was arrested at his home in Saint-Martin-de-Seignanx, near Bayonne after fleeing the scene by car. He reportedly set a vehicle on fire before he left. Police found a gas canister and a handgun in his car.

At least 15 people have been killed and two seriously injured in an attack on a mosque in northern Burkina Faso by a yet to be identified gunmen.

Gunmen entered the Grand Mosque in the village of Salmossi on Friday evening as those inside were praying. The attack prompted many locals to flee the village which is close to the Malian border.
