Nigeria’s minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, has stated that there was no longer the need for Nigerian to travel abroad to seek medical attention.

He made this assertion after a guided tour of Duchess International Hospital in Ikeja area of Lagos on Tuesday.

He expressed joy that the hospital was one the projects the Federal Government has supported to succeed. He pointed out that even where the project is private-sector driven, the government has either provided the enabling environment or, in some cases, supported with funding.

I Won’t Travel Abroad For Medical Check-Up – Wike

As Nigerians continue to criticize President MuhammaduBuhari for traveling abroad for Check-up, Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike of Rivers state has revealed that he won’t travel abroad for medical check-ups, because according to him, everything he needs for medical examination was in the Government House Clinic built by his administration.

Wike made this known when a delegation of the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria paid him a courtesy visit at the Government House, Port Harcourt on Wednesday.

Wike’s comment comes at a time when the President, Muhammadu Buhari, is in London for a medical check-up.

Buhari Travels To London For ‘Routine Medical Check Up’

Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari is due to leave Nigeria for London, the United Kingdom, today, March 30 for a two-week medical trip.

This was made known in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity Femi Adesina on Monday evening.

According to the statement, President Buhari is expected back in the country in the second week of April.
