Nigeria To Lift Ban On Aid Groups In Northeast – Lowcock

United Nations humanitarian chief Mark Lowcock said Friday that Nigeria has promised to lift a ban on two international aid groups working in the restive northeast in the β€œnext few days”.

The army closed down the offices of Action Against Hunger (ACF) and Mercy Corps in northeast Nigeria in September, sparking fears it could worsen the humanitarian crisis caused by the Boko Haram insurgency.

The military accused Paris-based ACF of β€œaiding and abetting terrorists and their atrocities” by supplying food and drugs to the jihadist fighters.
