We Can Justify Every Debt Incurred Under Buhari – Fashola

Nigeria’s Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, has claimed that the Buhari administration has been able to provide validation to all the debts it has borrowed by constructing various infrastructures across the country.

Fashola made this known while speaking at the closing ceremony of the 28th National Council of Works meeting held in Kano on Friday.

Some Ex-militant leaders in the Niger Delta region have called on the Interim Management Committee of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), to pay contractors to avoid threats of home and other property forfeiture to banks over unpaid loans.

The group also lamented untold hardship following certified completion of work without pay.

Bank of Industry disbursed over ₦270 billion loans in 2018

The Bank of Industry (BoI) disbursed over N270billion in 2018, the Executive Director, Large Enterprises, Bank of Industry, Mr. Simon Aranonu has said.

Speaking in an interview with The Nation at the weekend, he said, the Bank generated a total of N36billioin as profit within the same period, as against N22 billion made in the previous year.

According to Aranonu, BoI in the last 18 months has also grown its balance sheet from N700b in 2017 to N1.1trillion as of Dec 31 2018.
