Lagos State Government has reassured residents of its commitment to protect lives and property, stressing that the responsibility will not be compromised.

The re-assurance came just as the State Police Command, acting on the orders of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, stepped up its surveillance, following the panic generated by threat letters purportedly written to some communities by a faceless criminal group, “One Million Boys”.

Road Accident Claims 19 Lives In Katsina

No fewer than 19 people have been confirmed dead in a ghastly motor accident along the Mararaban-maska road in Funtua Local Government Area of Katsina State.

The accident was said to have occurred on Sunday at about 8 pm when an 18-seater bus collided with a truck, leaving seven other passengers with varying degrees of injuries.

THISDAY gathered that the bus had brake failure and rammed into the truck, killing the 19 persons instantly, leaving seven others with varying degrees of injuries.

Car Crash Claims 13 Lives Along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

Thirteen persons have been killed in a crash along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway with 10 others injured. The Ogun State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps confirmed the deaths and the crash which occurred around Sapade near Ogere area of the state.

According to the Public Education Officer of the command, Florence Okpe, the crash occurred around 7 p.m. in the area where a diversion was created by a construction company currently working on the stretch of the road in the area.

Osun Auto Crash Claims 20 Lives

No fewer than 20 persons were Thursday burnt to death in a fatal road accident along Ife-Ibadan Expressway in Osun.

The accident, which occurred at about 3.30 p. m. in Ikire, headquarters of Irewole Local Government Area of Osun State, caused traffic congestion on the busy road, forcing motorists to ply other routes.
