The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) said the Federal Government, and not its members, are responsible for the union’s prolonged strike which began in February this year.

It, therefore, called on Nigerians to ask the government when it will sign the agreement reached at the just concluded renegotiation meeting.

Prof. Abdul-Rasheed Na-Allah, who is the Vice-Chancellor, University of Abuja, has reiterated that the institution has gone tough on lecturers sexually harassing students, as two professors were handed sack letters for the offence.

Na’Allah on Monday in New York that the university had introduced a policy on sex abuse on campus, which had been published.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), has blamed the poor attention students get from lecturers to the poor learning environment across universities.

Gunmen Abduct Two Lecturers In Kaduna

Two lecturers have been kidnapped by gunmen in Mahuta community of Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The two lecturers whose names were given as Dr. Adamu Chinoko and Dr. Umar Chinoko are said to be biological brothers, teaching at the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria and Kaduna Polytechnic, respectively.

It was learnt that Adamu was abducted on Thursday night and the kidnappers demanded a ransom of N2 million and a new motorcycle.
