The All Progressives Congress (APC) has applauded the emergence of a new leadership of the National Assembly led by Ahmed Lawan. In a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Lanre Issa Onilu, it congratulated President Muhammadu Buhari; National Chairman of the Party, Adams Oshiomhole; governors; National Executive Committee (NEC); the National Working Committee (NWC) and other supporters on the party’s victory in clinching principal officer positions in the ninth National Assembly.

Ahead of the inauguration of the Ninth Senate and the election of a new Senate President, the Senate Leader, Dr. Ahmad Lawan, yesterday said the battle for the exalted position is not a do-or-die affair.

Anambra South Senator-elect, Mr Ifeanyi Ubah, has pinched tent with a group of elected lawmakers in the incoming 9th Senate led by Sen. Ahmed Lawan.

Elected under the Young Progressives Party (YPP) on Feb. 23, Ubah is one of the 11 senators-elect who were with Lawan at an interactive session with newsmen in Abuja.
