No fewer than 50 people in Nepal and India in recent days have died following a heavy monsoon rains and landslides have killed almost, authorities shave confirmed.

In western Nepal at least 22 people died after landslides buried more than 100 houses on Friday, police official Narayan Dangi told reporters.

Eleven people were injured, including three airlifted to hospital by army helicopter.

Fresh reports reaching the desk of Africa Daily News, New York have revealed that some heavy monsoon rains and landslides have led to the death of almost 50 people in Nepal and India in recent days.

It has been reported in western Nepal that at least 22 people have died after landslides have also buried more than 100 houses on Friday, police official Narayan Dangi told AFP and eleven people have also been left seriously injured, including three airlifted to hospital by army helicopter.

Austrian Villages Cut Off By Landslides Following Heavy Rains

According to the Red Cross, rescue personnel were attempting to reach three settlements in western Austria on Wednesday after landslides caused by heavy rains blocked access.

According to a spokesman for the Red Cross in the bordering state of Carinthia, Melanie Reiter, thunderstorms on the night of Tuesday to Wednesday caused streams in the hilly Villach-Land district to burst their banks, resulting in mud and debris landslides.

‘Three villages have been completely cut off… The army and firefighters are trying to clear the streets’ to be able to access the villages, she told reporters.

Floods, Landslides Kill 40 In Nepal, Many Missing

KATHMANDU (Reuters) – Heavy rains triggered flash floods and landslides that killed at least 40 people and displaced thousands in western Nepal, officials said on Saturday.

Twenty people were killed and at least 13 others were missing in Myagdi district, 200 km (125 miles) northwest of the capital Kathmandu, where several houses were destroyed on Friday, district administrator Gyan Nath Dhakal said.
