MAN Tasks Buhari’s Govt On Speedy Implementation Of AFCFTA

The President, Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), Mr Mansur Ahmed has tasked the Federal Government to speedily commence the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) to support its industrialization agenda and for competitiveness.

Ahmed stated this at the11th Business Luncheon of the Apapa Branch Council of the association, whose theme was “Improving Nigeria’s Manufacturers Competitiveness within the Context of AFCFTA’s Implementation”.

Ahmed, who spoke on Thursday in Lagos, said the call became pertinent because the nation was not currently competitive enough to fully maximize and harness the benefits of the AfCFTA.

No fewer than five persons were hospitalised were rushed to the hospital following a fire outbreak at the Lagos campus of the Nigerian Law School, located at Ozumba Mbadiwe Street, Victoria Island.

According to eyewitnesses who spoke to newsmen, the incident led to commotion among occupants who ran in different directions for dear lives.

An eyewitness, simply identified as Segun, narrated that the fire, which started at 10pm, was caused by an electrical fault, from the first floor of the five-story building hostel, accommodating about 1500 law graduates on the Lagos campus.

Lagos State Government yesterday revealed that the proposed Fourth Mainland Bridge will gulp $2.5 billion under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) agreement.

Jet Crashes Into Fence At Lagos Airport

A Jet in the fleet of Jedidiah Air has crashed into a fence at the General Aviation Terminal (GAT), local wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos, Southwest Nigeria.

It was gathered that the aircraft, King Air 200 Jet was re-parking when it rammed into the fence at the tarmac close to a facility used by Bristow Helicopters.

Five people have drowned in a  boat mishap which occurred at Ikorodu area of Lagos, Southwest Nigeria on Friday night.

The incident occurred around 8.00pm on Friday.

The mishap occurred after a 20-passenger capacity commercial ferry with 21 passengers on board took off illegally from Èbúté Ẹrọ Jetty at about few minutes past 8.00pm heading towards Ikorodu, ran into an unforeseen object on the Waterways causing the boat to capsize.
