Lagos: Wike’s Endorsement Of Sanwo-Olu Unsurprising – Jandor

Mr. Jide Adeniran, who is the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State,  has asserted that no one should express shock over the recent endorsement of Babajide Sanwo-Olu by Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike, pointing out that there was never a time he had never supported his governorship ambition.

Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu who is the Governor of Lagos State has announced a salary increment for workers in the state public office.

Sanwo-Olu made this announcement when he spoke on Tuesday during his courtesy visit to the Head, Office of Public Service in Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos.

Police Intercept Two Buses Loaded With Ammunition In Lagos

Police officers attached to the Ikorodu Division in Lagos State have intercepted two commercial buses loaded with a large cache of live cartridges, three dismantled motorcycles, and some personal effects.

They were intercepted at Poromope Estate, Ijede Road, Ikorodu, Lagos State, the spokesman of the state’s police command Benjamin Hundeyin said in a statement on Saturday.

‘Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspects, Tukur Abdullah ‘m’ aged 35, Muazu Telim ‘m’ aged 50, and Dahiru Idris ‘m’ aged 36 were on their way to Katsina State,’  Hundeyin added.

Four Confirmed Dead Following Building Collapse In Lagos

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) yesterday confirmed that four persons died while one was rescued in the building collapse at Oye Sonuga Street, Palm Avenue, in Mushin, Lagos.

Mr. Ibrahim Farinloye who is the NEMA South West Zonal Coordinator made this known to reporters in an interview on Saturday.

He said two males and two females died, while one person was rescued in the building collapse.

Earlier, the Lagos State Government also said it would investigate the cause of the building collapse.

The Government of Lagos State has mandated all schools to begin the 2022/2023 academic year on September 5 , 2022 (Tomorrow).

This decision was confirmed in a statement on Saturday issued by the Director-General, Office of Education Quality Assurance of the state, Abiola Seriki-Ayeni which was obtained by Africa Daily News, New York.

The Governor Sanwo-Olu led Government of Lagos State has finally given out a directive that openly mandated all the schools in the State to resume the 2022/2023 academic year on the 5th of September, 2022.
