Lagos Speaker Obasa Visits Pen Cinema, Fagba Police Unit, TVC

The Speaker, Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, on Saturday led other members on a fact-finding visit to areas and facilities destroyed by hoodlums during the peaceful protest against the disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).

Obasa, who is also the Chairman, Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures in Nigeria, visited the ravaged palace of the Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu, and the Isokoko Police Station.

No Record Of Obasa As A Lawyer In Our Registry – Supreme Court

More trouble may be brewing for Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, as the Supreme Court of Nigeria has revealed that there was no record of him as a lawyer in their registry.

The apex court keeps records of all certified lawyers allowed to handle cases in any Nigerian court.

Obasa’s profile on Wikipedia and the Lagos Assembly’s website describes him as a lawyer and solicitor of the Federal Republic of Nigeria even though there is no mention of where he practiced or a case he handled.

Lagos Assembly Spends ₦2.4Bn On 80 Cars In 11 Months

About ₦2.4b has been spent within 11 months to procure 80 cars for the 40 members of the Lagos State House of Assembly.  The information available to The Guardian revealed that sometimes last year, a contract was awarded for 40 cars to be purchased for the lawmakers. And less than a year after, another contract was awarded for the purchase of cars for the Assembly members in December and January.
