Former president of the Senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki has recalled how the All Progressives Congress (APC), which is currently in power in Kwara State, used the ‘O to ge’ campaign to depose the Peoples Democratic Party from the state by fraudulent means. 

He narrated that the campaign was rife with falsehoods and deception.

He pointed out that the approach was used to trick the state’s citizens in order to come out victorious in elections.

The Kwara Police Command has refuted a video making rounds on social media which featured some police officers alledgly protesting the alleged default of one year salary.
The commissioner of police in the state, Mr. Tuesday Assayomo, stated in a message signed by the police authority’s Spokesperson, SP Ayayi Okasanmai in Ilorin, on Saturday.
According to Assayomo, neither the allowance of the special constable nor the pay of any regular police officer featured in the clip were owed by the police.

The police command in Kwara State has confirmed the killing of no fewer than four persons and dozen other who were injured at Kaara Market in Ajase-Ipo, Irepodun Local Government Area of the state following a clash between OPC members and Fulani cow dealers.

2023: How Delegates Refunded Money I Paid Them – APC Senator

The lawmaker representing Kwara Central district, Senator Ibrahim Oloriegbe, has recounted how he got a refund of the cash he gave to delegates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) during the party’s primaries after he lost to his opponent.

He made this known during an interview on Channels Television which was monitored by Africa Daily News, New York.

According to him, the funds given to the delegates were for logistics.

Oloriegbe is among several other members of the party in the Senate who lost their party’s ticket to seek re-election into the red chamber of the National Assembly.

The trial of the former Chairperson of the Kwara State Scholarship Board, Hajia Fatimah Yusuf and two others continued Wednesday with the second prosecution witness revealing how officials of the board forged signatures of 326 students to steal bursary funds.

The two others included the Executive Secretary, Fatai Lamidi and the Accountant, Stephen Ajewole.

The Ilorin Zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission had on January 15, 2020, arraigned the three officials of the board on a seven count charge over their involvement in bursary fraud to the tune of N50m.
