Gunmen have shot 13 members of the same family dead in Agbudu, Kogi-Koton-Karfe Local Government Area of Kogi State.

Fourteen people were killed in the attack, with six persons serious injured.

The Nigerian Army has court-martialed one Sgt. Abdulrazaq Moshood, a Military officer with command Army Records, Charimaigumeri barracks, Lokoja, Kogi State, for allegedly assaulting his wife and his six-month-old baby.

The victim of the assault identified as Mrs Firdause Abdulrazaq while demanding justice from Nigerians, said she had been suffering in the hands of her husband since 2014.

Governor Yahaya Bello Lifts Ban On Religious Gatherings

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has lifted the ban on religious gatherings.

Gov. Yahaya Bello on March 20, ordered the closure of public and private schools (tertiary, secondary and primary) in the state indefinitely as part of measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

The governor also banned all gatherings involving 30 people and above.

However, in a statement issued in Lokoja on Thursday, Yahaya Bello said that the lifting of the ban was to enable religious bodies to resume their normal worship and services.

Kogi: Governor Bello’s Mum Dies In Abuja, Aged 101

The Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello on Sunday lost his mother, Hajia Hawa Bello.

The governor’s mother died in Abuja on Sunday after a brief illness.

It was further learnt that her body is expected to be buried today in Okene, Kogi State according to the Muslim rite.

Late Hajia Hawa Bello survived with children, grand children and great grand children, among whom is the governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello.

The Kogi State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Hon. Wemi Ojo Jones has charged all heads of institutions in the state to intensify action in eradicating cultism in schools as directed by the Governor, Alh. Yahaya Bello.

The alleged cold war in Kogi State Government House took a new twist weekend, following the suspension of the Chief Medical Director of the Kogi State Specialist Hospital, Dr. Ahmed Attah.

Land Cannot Be Revoked Through Radio Announcement – Court

The Kogi State High Court of Justice have told the two defendants in a civil land matter, Kogi State Town Planning and Development Board and the State’s Ministry of Agriculture that revocation of land cannot be done through mere radio announcement without recourse to the owner of the land.

This was the judgement given by the State Chief Judge, Justice Nasiru Ajanah, on Wednesday, in a land dispute, with suit number HCL/76/2013 which was instituted in 2013 by one Olorunfemi Mohammed against the two agencies and the Attorney-General of the state, who was the third defendant.
