More Woes For Kogi As Fuel Hits ₦230/L Amidst Flood

Commuters in Kogi were left with deep frowns of disgust as some of the Lokoja-Okene bound drivers had openly expressed their hearfelt displeasure on Sunday as fuel prices had hit at least ₦230 per litre in Okene and the Lokoja local government areas of Kogi State.

A visit to some of the filling stations in Okene on Sunday had shown reports that the current scarcity of fuel in Lokoja, which is the Kogi State capital, has extended to Okene, with some of the major filling stations without fuel to dispense to motorists.

Tipper Crushes Father Of 30 Children To Death In Kogi – FRSC

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) said a father of 30 children was killed on Monday when a tipper rammed his motorcycle in Kogi.

This was announced in Lokoja by Corps Commander Stephen Dawulung, the Kogi FRSC Sector Commander.

The tipper truck struck and killed the guy, 60-year-old commercial motorcycle Abdulsalam Ibrahim, along with his passenger at Lokoja’s Ganaja Junction.

‘The incident was tragic and very unfortunate,’ he said.

He regretted that the accident cut short the life of the bread-winner of 30 children.

The Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has reacted to the death of Taiwo Kola-Ojo, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Kogi West Chairman.

Kogi: PDP’s Wada Dissatisfied, To Appeal Election Result

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Kogi State Musa Wada has rejected the election results being announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Wadda said he would go to the tribunal to appeal the election result he claimed to have won.

“They (Kogi people) should not despair,” Wada said in a video tweeted by the PDP.

“We shall pursue this to a logical conclusion with the coffers of the law in this country.”

A collation officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Kogi state on Sunday presented a N50,000 bribe politicians offered to a presiding officer in Igalamela-Odolu local government area of the state during Saturday’s election.
