Mallam El-Rufai condemns fresh killings in Kaduna community

The Kaduna State Government has condemned the killing of nine people by suspected fulani herdsmen in Nandu Gbok village in Sanga Local Government Area of the state.

Sources in the community however said 10 people were killed in the attack which occurred at about 4:00am on Saturday.

Kaduna to set up commission of inquiry on Kajuru killings

The Kaduna State Government said it would set up a judicial commission of inquiry into the recurring killings in Kajuru and Kachia Local Government Areas of the state.

Gov. Nasir El-Rufai made the statement on Saturday when he visited Maro, Karamai and Sakiya communities in the area where 40 persons were killed on Tuesday in alleged reprisal attacks.

2016 Agatu Killings: ECOWAS Court orders investigation

The ECOWAS Court of Justice sitting in Abuja, on Tuesday ordered the Federal Government to investigate the 2016 mass killings and destruction of properties in the Agatu Community in Benue State, identify and prosecute the perpetrators and redress the victims.

Delivering judgment in a suit brought by a catholic priest, Reverend Father Solomon Mfa, and eleven others, a three member panel of the Court found the government in β€˜violation of their obligation to protect the human rights of the Agatu Community and prevent its violation.’

Kaduna killings: Police disagree with El-Rufai on figures

48 hours after Governor Nasir El-Rufai put the figure at 130, Kaduna State Commissioner of Police, Ahmad Abdulrahman has said that the casualty figures of Kajuru killings is yet to be ascertained.

The police commissioner while briefing newsmen in Kaduna on Thursday, however, warned that, nobody should stampede investigations on the killings, adding that, β€œeven if the governor tells you it is 200 bodies, he is just quoting figures, because it may be more than that or less than that.”
