Panic As Gunmen Kidnap Catholic Priest In Benue

A Catholic priest serving in Benue State, Rev. Fr. Peter Amodu, was on Thursday evening kidnapped by some yet-to-be-identified gunmen sparking panic in the area in Benue State.

Fr. Amodu, who hails from Agbaha Otukpa in Ogbadibo Local Government Area of Benue State, was said to have been kidnapped on yesterday,  along Okwungaga-Otukpo highway.

Sources from the area who spoke to reporters on Friday morning pointed out that nothing had yet been heard from him or his abductors concerning his whereabouts almost 24 hours after his abduction.

The police in Abia State have arrested a native doctor and four other kidnap suspects who had been terrorising residents of Isiala Ngwa and commuters within the Isiala Ngwa axis of the Enugu/Port Harcourt Expressway.

The Police in Niger have arrested five suspects for alleged kidnapping and armed robbery in Rafi and Mariga local government areas of the state.

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command, on Friday, paraded 49 suspects and a fake police officer, who the police said were responsible for the high rate of criminality in Abuja.

The police in Anambra State have arrested members of a four-man gang for alleged kidnapping.

The suspects allegedly wore military uniforms to deceive and kidnap people.
