Ganduje Thanks Buhari Over Power Upgrade In Kano

Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State has commended the Federal Government for the installation of a power sub-station at the Bichi Local Government Area of the state to boost power supply.

This is contained in a statement issued by the Director-General, Media and Public Relations to the Governor, Malam Ameen Yassar.‎

Ganduje gave the commendation while receiving the Managing Director of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Alhaji Sule AbdulAziz, who visited him at Government House in Kano.‎‎

The governor said that the project would trigger a post-COVID-19 economic recovery in the state.‎

The Police Command in Kano State has rescued 126 workers allegedly forced to spend three months in a factory called ‘popular farm rice’ in Challawa industrial area.

It was gathered that the labourers were forced to work under hard condition despite the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown order.

It was also learnt the company promised to add only N5000 to their meagre pay for working day and night during the lockdown.

According to some of the workers, the firm managers threatened to sack them should they go home to see their families.

Ganduje Approves Eid Prayers Amid lockdown

Governor Umar Ganduje, of Kano State on Monday extended the lockdown imposed by the federal government on the State by another two weeks.

The state government also approved Friday Prayers to hold, as well as Eid Prayers at the end of Ramadan.

The new Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, has revealed that mass deaths recorded in Kano State are not connected to Coronavirus outbreak.

Kano State Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has disclosed that his administration boosts local rice production to 3 million tonnes a year to meet the people’s demands on rice consumption.
