El-Rufai Wants To Be Vice President – Arewa Youths

The Arewa Youth Consultative Forum, AYCF, President-General, Yerima Shettima on Tuesday insisted that Nasir El-Rufai, Governor of Kaduna State was working towards becoming the Vice President in 2023.

Shettima, who spoke with reporters, made the remark while condemning the governor for saying the Southern part of Nigeria should be allowed to produce the country’s next president.

The Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, has insisted that the North has no justification to remain in power after the expiration of President Muhammadu Buhari’s second tenure.

El-Rufai maintained that the Presidency should rightly return to the Southern part of Nigeria.

He said though the constitution of the All Progressives Congress, APC, does not make provision for rotation but in the interest of justice, equity and fair play, Presidency should go to other regions of the country.

Former governor of Kaduna State, Dr. Muktar Ramalan Yero has urged the North to seek ways of reducing the spate of illiteracy and poverty in the region instead of fighting to retain power beyond 2023.

School Feeding: 9 Cooks Disappear With Funds

Chikun Local Government Education Authority in Kaduna State says it has uncovered nine cooks who disappeared after collecting ₦692,000 to feed pupils in area in the ongoing National Homegrown School Feeding Programme.

The Education Secretary, Dr Ibahim Danmaraya, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kaduna on Thursday that the names of the cooks had been forwarded to appropriate authorities for immediate action.

Danmaraya said the four of the cooks collected N336,000 to feed 336,000 pupils in a month, but failed to supply the food, while five others paid N356,000 were no where to be found.

Kaduna State Records 84 Fire Outbreaks In January

The Kaduna State Fire Service says it recorded 87 fire outbreaks and seven deaths in January 2020.

Mr Paul Aboi, Director of the service made this known on Saturday in Kaduna.

Aboi said the fire outbreaks were recorded in Kaduna Zaria and Kafanchan.

He said the outbreaks were caused mainly by carelessness in the use of electrical appliances and ignorance in handling naked fires.

The director said January usually recorded high rate of fire incidences because it was a core dry season.
