JAMB Makes Case For Exam Fee Hike, Seeks Financial Autonomy

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has called on the House of Representatives Committee on Finance to consider granting it financial autonomy by removing it from the list of Ministries, Departments, and Agencies in the annual budget of the Federal Government.

This is even as JAMB made a case for a reversal of the recent reduction of the examination fee from ₦5,000 to ₦3,500.

JAMB Registrar, Ishaq Oloyede, made this appeal in Abuja on Wednesday at the public hearing on the proposed 2023-2025 Medium Term Expenditure Framework and Fiscal Strategy Paper organised by the committee.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has raised an alarm over a series of smear campaigns and fraud allegations against its management and officers.

Fabian Benjamin, JAMB’s Head of Public Affairs and Protocol, had announced that the smear campaign was sponsored by those against the board’s reforms which have blocked their sources of illicit wealth. Benjamin had also alleged that those behind the falsehood are using a faceless non-governmental organization, NGO, to circulate the concocted allegations.

Why We Canceled Use Of Email For UTME Registration – JAMB

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that the use of email is no longer required for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) registration.

Prof Ishaq Oloyede, who made this disclosure while addressing newsmen in Abuja, revealed that consequently, candidates will have the following options to access their profile during or after registration.

‘As from Thursday, 15th April, 2021, candidates will no longer be required to provide any email address during registration.’

UTME: Why NIN Is Compulsory For Registration – JAMB Registrar

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has said it made use of the National Identity Number (NIN) for registration of the 2021 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) compulsory, in a bid to checkmate examination malpractices.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has made it clear that some universities will not offer admission to candidates that score less than 200.

The Joint Admissions and Ma­triculation Board (JAMB) has been trending all day in Twitter Nigeria as the exam body gets the accolade of Nigerians for remitting yet some new billions to the Federal treasury.

2020 UTME: JAMB Finally Shuts Down Result Portal

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) on Wednesday urged candidates to check results using their telephone numbers because its portal has been shut down.

Recall that the board on Monday, released results of 312,000 candidates who sat for the exam on Saturday.

However, candidates were on Tuesday unable to check their results.
