UN, EU Decry Boko Haram, ISWAP Attacks Against Aid Workers

The European Union (EU) and the United Nations (UN) expressed concerns, in a joint press conference on Friday, about the recent upsurge in attacks against aid workers and civilians by Boko Haram and ISWAP in Borno, Adamawa and Yobe states.

They reiterated their commitment to work better together and strengthen efforts to provide life-saving assistance to those affected by more than ten years of crisis in the states and to increase support to people rebuilding their lives and communities.

NAF Neutralises ISWAP Fighters, Headquarters In Borno

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has destroyed portions of an Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP)’s tactical headquarters at Kollaram on the fringes of the Lake Chad in Borno.

The NAF said it also neutralised some ISWAP fighters in the same area.

Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola, NAF Director of Public Relations and Information who made this known in a statement on Friday in Abuja, said the operation was conducted by the Air Task Force (ATF) of Operation LAFIYA DOLE, NAN reports.

The Federal Government has described the Boko Haram and Islamic State of West African Province, ISWAP, as irrational and inhuman.

ISWAP: We Killed 11 Christians To Avenge Al Baghdadi

The ISIL (ISIS) group has released a video claiming to show the execution of 11 Christians in northeast Nigeria, one day after Christmas.

The footage posted in an online Telegram news channel late on Thursday by ISIL-linked propaganda arm Amaq showed 11 blindfolded men being lined up at an unidentified outdoor location.

The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has condemned the execution of Christian captives by the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP).

The terrorists based the action on its revenge of the killing of ISIS leader, Abubakr Al-Baghdadi and its spokesman, Abul-Hassan Al-Muhaiir.

ISWAP Kill 3 Security Officers, Threatens Army In New Video

A new video dated December 8, showing the execution of two Nigerian soldiers and a policeman has emerged online.

In the video which was obtained by Channels Television on Monday, the killing was carried out by masked men believed to be members of the Islamic State of West African Province (ISWAP).

Those who were killed were reportedly abducted at a fake checkpoint in Benisheikh, a village seventy kilometers west of Maiduguri, Borno State capital.
