Students Issue Ultimatum To Gov. Dapo To Sack Commissioner

The National Association of Universities’ Students(NAUS’), has issued a 14 -day ultimatum to Ogun State Governor, Mr Dapo Abiodun, to sack the newly appointed Commissioner for Education, Prof Sidi Osho, over the alleged scandal surrounding her disengagement by her former employer.

NAUS averred that appointing someone alleged of forgery leading to her sack by her former employer, Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ogun State, signaled that the education sector no longer respects dignity and sincerity.

The students issued a 14-day ultimatum to the governor to sack the Commissioner or face mass protest by students from universities domiciled in Ogun State.

The South-South Elders on Sunday declared that there will be a crisis that could consume Nigeria if the North should insist on retaining power.

The two-term tenure of President Muhammadu Buhari expires in 2023.

The South-South elders noted that it was logical to allow their zone to produce the President for another four years so as to “complete its second tenure”.

Minister of Finance, Zainab Ahmed, has said that contrary to speculations,  the country is not in debt crisis, but admitted that it has revenue generation problem.

Ugandan Govt. plans to issue birth certificates for cattle

Plans have reached an advanced stage for the issuance of “birth certificates” for the animals as well as registration of all farmers and their cattle by the Ugandan government.

NIS to issue resident permit to foreign citizens

The Comptroller General of Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), Muhammad Babban Dede, has said issuance of resident permit to emigrants would soon commence.

Dede revealed that the new development would enable the Nigerian government to fish out illegal immigrants residing in the country, insisting whoever failed to conform to the directive risked deportation.

INEC lists condition to issue Okorocha’s return certificate

Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Friday insisted that it would not issue the governor of Imo State Rochas Okorocha of the All Progressives Congress (APC) a return certificate as an elected senator unless a court of competent jurisdiction gives the order.

“The position of the commission has not changed. The position of the commission is that we will not issue certificate of return to Governor Rochas Okorocha in relation to the senatorial election,” INEC’s head of voter education Festus Okoye said at a press conference in Abuja.
