Qatar Pushes For Breakthrough In Gaza Ceasefire

Qatar Pushes For Breakthrough In Gaza Ceasefire

Qatar’s Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani has urged all sides to seize what he described as a rare “momentum” to halt the war in Gaza, warning that opportunities to end the conflict are fast slipping away. A new 20-point ceasefire framework, backed by Washington and accepted by Israel, has been presented to Hamas for review.

The plan seeks to end hostilities, prevent mass displacement, and secure the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the enclave. Sheikh Mohammed acknowledged that the agreement faces “practical challenges,” but emphasized that the immediate priority must be protecting civilians and restoring governance to …

Trump’s Gaza Proposal Opens Door, But Doubts Persist

When Donald Trump strode into the White House briefing room this week beside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, he declared his Gaza plan “one of the greatest days in the history of civilization.” Hyperbole, of course, has long been his register. Still, the proposal he laid out—20 principles aimed at ending the war—marks a notable shift in Washington’s approach, even if it is less a peace deal than a framework for further bargaining.

The plan would freeze battle lines, secure the release of hostages, and place Gaza under an interim authority supervised by a new international “Board of Peace,” with …

US Escalates Clash With ICC Over Israel Cases

The United States on Wednesday escalated its confrontation with the International Criminal Court (ICC), imposing sanctions on judges, including one from France, over the tribunal’s prosecution of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced the measures, which also targeted a Canadian judge in a separate case. The move marks Washington’s latest effort to undermine the ICC, which is backed by nearly all other Western democracies as a court of last resort for grave international crimes.

“The Court is a national security threat that has been an instrument for lawfare against the United States and our close …

Israel Demands Apology After Russia’s Hitler Comments

Israel on Monday requested an official apology from Russia describing the Russian foreign minister’s recent comments about Adolf Hitler and antisemitism an ‘outrageous statement and a terrible historic mistake.’

Lavrov’s comments came after he was asked how Russia can claim to be ‘denazifying’ Ukraine when the country’s president, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, is Jewish.

‘When they say ‘What sort of nazification …

Israeli military: New airstrikes in Gaza

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he is “prepared to do a lot more” after overnight Israeli strikes hit Hamas targets in Gaza, but by sunset on Tuesday an uneasy calm seemed to be holding, following the sharpest escalation in violence since the beginning of the year.

The militant Hamas group — which Israel blamed for triggering the latest round of hostilities by firing a rocket that hit a house north of Tel Aviv in the early hours of Monday morning — first announced that a ceasefire had been agreed late Monday, but renewed rocket fire from Gaza into Israel,
