IPAC Sees Red As NASS Amends Statutory Delegates’ Act

The reeent move by the House of Representatives to amend some of the Electoral acts to better suit Statutory Delegates have been met with a lot of backlashes and protests especially from the Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC) as they openly protested over the House of Representatives’ passage of Section 84(8) of the Electoral Amendment Act, 2022, to allow statutory delegates participate in political parties’ congresses and conventions.

The House of Representatives had amended the clause after considering a Bill sponsored by the Chairman, House Committee on Rules and Business, Rep. Abubakar Fulata at plenary on Wednesday in Abuja.

S/West: IPAC Sets Up Zonal Executives, Demands Governance

The Inter- Party Advisory Council (IPAC), South-west zone, says it has set up an executive team, headed by Mr Dare Ojo, who is the Oyo council Chairman.

The IPAC zonal Secretary, Mr Olusegun Mobolaji, in a statement on Tuesday in Lagos said the executive committee officials were nominated and set up at the zonal inaugural meeting, held on April 30 in Ibadan, Oyo.

Mobolaji said that the council had called  for a more inclusive governance across states in the zone, to enhance a better society.

IPAC Blasts INEC On Deregistration Of Political Parties

 

The Inter-Party Advisory Council, IPAC of Nigeria Anambra branch has released a press briefing condemning Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on the unlawful, unjustified deregistration of different political parties.

INEC had proceeded in an unprovoked action of deregistering some political parties earlier this year.
