Fraud: 3 Nigerians Nabbed By INTERPOL In Operation Killer Bee

In a coordinated crack operation which involved officials of the International Police (INTERPOL) and some local security forces, three Nigerians have been nabbed over alleged global scam.

The trio were arrested in a sting operation conducted simultaneously in a Lagos suburb, Ajegunle and in Benin City, 300 km to the East of the commercial capital.

One of the scammers, Hendrix Omorume has been charged and convicted and now faces a 12-month prison sentence.

The Edo State Commissioner for Arts, Culture and Diaspora Affairs, Hon. Osazee Osemwengie Ero, has been arrested by the Interpol in far away France.

The federal government is working with Interpol to extradite the former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Mohammed Bello Adoke (SAN), to face charges filed against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), THISDAY’s investigation has revealed.

EFCC And Interpol To Partner For Strict Maritime Security

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is to collaborate with the Interpol to promote maritime security through a special project, tagged “Project AGWE.”

The project which will involve Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Togo, Ghana and Benin Republic is aimed at ridding Nigeria and the other countries involved in economic sabotage in the maritime environment.

The disclosure was made weekend, at the EFCC headquarters by the acting Chairman of the Commission, Ibrahim Magu, alongside Anastasia Kirillas, Interpol’s Analyst and leader of Interpol’s delegation, which came on a working visit to the commission.

The Secretary-General of INTERPOL, Jurgen Stock on Monday met with the Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ibrahim Magu to explore partnership on how to fight corruption.

Stock said since corruption breeds terrorism, the anti-graft war must be sustained.
