Ukraine Invasion: Russia Kicked Out Of ICAO Council

RussiaΒ was on Saturday voted out of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) at the ongoing United Nations General Assembly for aviation, which had commenced last week in Montreal, Canada over its invasion of Ukraine.

The banishment of Russia followed a democratic vote by member states and the first time a country has been kicked out from the premier category of the decision-making council at the United Nations Organisation for Aviation.

As part of their reconvened intiatives with providing support for some international businesses, Nigeria has pledged to continue to support the ideals and aspirations of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) and the achievement of its strategic objectives, in collaboration with the other Member States of the organisation.

The Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari made this known when he received the Secretary-General of ICAO, Mr Juan Carlos Salazar, at the State House, Abuja, on Tuesday.
