Barcelona defender Iñigo Martínez has spoken with confidence about his side’s recent dominance over Real Madrid, insisting that Los Blancos struggled to match Barça’s intensity on the pitch.
“Real Madrid respected us, and that was clear on the pitch,” Martínez said. “We always felt like they could never keep up with us.”
The Spanish centre-back, who joined Barcelona from Athletic Club in 2023, has quickly become a reliable figure in Xavi Hernández’s defensive setup.
