Tension has risen to the crescendo in Bayelsa State as aggrieved Bayelsans and APC supporters embarked on massive protest following INEC’s declaration of PDP Douye Diri as the state’s governor-elect.

Hundreds of angry youths and women, Friday trooped to major streets of Yenagoa, protesting the Supreme Court verdict that sacked the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates in the November 16 gubernatorial election. They set the PDP’s Secretariat in the State ablaze.

Results Of General Elections Have Vanished – INEC

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has raised fears that the results and data of the 1999 and 2003 general elections were missing.

The commission’s National Commissioner on Election and Party Monitoring, Prof. Anthonia Okosi-Simbina made this known on Thursday.

Prof. Okosi-Simbina, a former member of the Nigeria Institute of Social and Economic Research, however, added that researchers did not find it difficult to trace the 2019 general elections results which were already online.

Less that 52 hours after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) deregistered 74 political parties for failing to win  any seat in the last general elections, the Action Democratic Party (ADP), has called on members of the defunct parties to join the party in order to address the challenges Nigeria is faced with.

Abia Rerun: INEC Issues Certificates Of Return To Winners

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has issued certificates of return to the winners of the January 25, 2020 rerun election held in Arochukwu and Abia south constituencies of Abia State.

Addressing the winners and their supporters at the INEC headquarters in Umuahia, the state capital, Wednesday, the Resident Electoral commissions (REC), Joseph IIoh, explained that the rerun election was pursuant to the orders of the court of Appeal, Owerri that the exercise be conducted in definite polling units in Arochukwu and Aba South Local Government Areas of Abia.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) yesterday insisted that the results of the 2019 general election were not transmitted electronically to its server, stressing that the commission only experimented with the technology during some staggered elections held in 2018.

PDP to INEC: declare our candidate winner of Kano election

The People’s Democratic Party ( PDP ) has charged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to immediately declare its candidate, Abba K. Yusuf, as the winner of the Kano governorship election.
