National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Adams Oshiomhole, has insisted that Emeka Ihedioha never won the March 9, 2019, governorship election in Imo State.

Supporters of Emeka Ihedioha, former governor of Imo, flooded the streets of Owerri, the state capital, on Sunday, demanding a reversal of the supreme court judgement which ordered his sack.

The apex court had on Tuesday ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to return Hope Uzodinma, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as winner of the March election.

Uzodinma placed a distant fourth in the results announced by INEC.

The aggrieved protesters wielded placards with inscriptions such as: “Ihedioha We Know’; “Democracy Has Been Murdered”; “We Want Him Back”, among others.

Ihedioha: APC Dismisses PDP Condemnation Of Judgment

The ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Friday, dismissed the grounds upon which the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, faulted the supreme court judgement that removed former Governor Emeka Ihedioha as governor of Imo State as reckless and baseless.

It also declared that Ihedioha did not win one-fourth in two-third of the total votes casted in the 27 local government areas of the state.

The ruling party affirmed that Ihedioha only won in 12 local government areas instead of 17 local government areas as stipulated by law.

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Mr Peter Esele, on Friday said the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) should take all the blame for the verdict of the Supreme Court on the Imo governorship election.
