Southern China: Three Dead In Huawei Factory Fire

Three people have been found dead after a huge fire broke out at an unfinished research facility belonging to tech giant Huawei in the southern Chinese city of Dongguan, according to local authorities.

The government said it had launched an investigation after Friday’s blaze at the building under construction in the Songshan Lake industrial development zone sent massive plumes of smoke into the sky.

China has urged the United States to stop the “unreasonable suppression of Huawei and Chinese enterprises”.

Chinese telecoms giant Huawei is preparing a legal counterpunch against new moves by American regulators to bar the company from accessing $8.5 billion in US federal funds for services and equipment, a report said Friday.
