In a manner reminiscent of a bazaar, virtually all the Governors in Nigeria who are set to leave office are currently ransacking their state coffers to empty them. Beyond the ongoing looting, they have conclusively put up systems that will ensure that they live off their poor states for the rest of their lives. It is sad and regrettably painful that Nigerian Governors through their state houses of assembly are hell-bent on impoverishing their states through the payment of mindboggling, obnoxious, and outrageous sums of money to themselves for life!

The All Progressive Congress (APC) House of Assembly aspirant eyeing the ticket of Qua’an Pan South State Constituency of Plateau in the 2023 general elections, Hon. Na’anyil Magdalene Dakogol, has been kidnapped.

The Lagos State House of Assembly is set to make provisions for compulsory lane markings, traffic laws signals on highways in the ongoing amendment of the Lagos Traffic Law and Regulations.

The Chairman, House Committee on Transportation, Mr Temitope Adewale (Ifako-Ijaiye I), made this known during an oversight tour of the Lagos Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) on Friday.

Adewale said there would be appropriate sanctions for violators of traffic lane marking on the highway, adding that the signs and markings on the highway would further reduce the gridlock experienced by motorists.

After spending four days with their captors, kidnapped wives and daughter of the slain member of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Hon Musa Mante Baraza, have been released.

The two women and the baby, Rashida Musa Mante (40), Rahina Musa Mante (35), and Fausar Musa Mante were kidnapped by some unknown gunmen who stormed their residence in Dass, the headquarters of Dass Local Government Area of the state and murdered their husband Thursday last week.

Their release was confirmed by the Chief of Staff to Governor Bala Mohammed, Dr. Ladan Salihu, in a series of tweets.

The Kano State House of Assembly on Monday suspended five members following fracas that broke out last week when Muhammadu Sanusi II, was dethroned as Emir of Kano.

Speaker of the House, Abdulazeez Gafasa, said the members were suspended for six months for alleged misconduct and abuse of house rules.
