The Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom has alleged that a good number of Fulani herdsmen are currently operating in collaboration with terrorist groups to sustain their attacks on the state.

The governor made the allegation on Wednesday while speaking in an interview with Epoch Times TV in Washington, DC, United States of America, USA.

Cattle Dealers Association of Nigeria (CDAN) Imo chapter has accused the Myetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) as being behind the excesses of killer herdsmen in South East and across the country.

Some of the weapons used in the conflicts between farmers and herders in the country have been traced to Nigerian security agencies, according to a report by Conflict Armament Research (CAR).

The international conflict research group said some of the weapons were traced to “stockpiles of Nigerian defence and security forces”.

The details of the meeting between Governors of Benue and Nasarawa States at the Government House in Lafia, have emerged.
