Russian Cyberspace Attacked By China – Report

According to cyber security firm identified as Kaspersky Laboratory, a number of Russian government agencies and security firms have reportedly been targeted by a group of Chinese hackers, who have posed cyber security risks to the mentioned companies.
Africa Daily News, New York reports that recently, several malicious cyber attacks on the Russian Federation’s military-industrial complex were allegedly executed by the Chinese hacker organization notoriously identified as TA428.
According to specialists, the attacks encompassed the dissemination of spam emails with malware code and classified info, and were first identified in January 2022.

Russian Hackers Accused Of Trying To Steal COVID-19 Vaccine Data

Britain, United States and Canada have accused hackers backed by the Russian state of trying to steal COVID-19 vaccine and treatment research from academic and pharmaceutical institutions around the world.

A co-ordinated statement from Britain, the United States and Canada, announced by Britain’s National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) attributed the attacks to group APT29.

The hacker group, which is also known as Cozy Bear, is said to be operating as part of Russian intelligence services.

“We condemn these despicable attacks against those doing vital work to combat the coronavirus pandemic,” said NCSC Director of Operations Paul Chichester.

US Indicts Evil Corp Hackers With Russian Intelligence

A Lamborghini-driving Moscow hacker who called his operation Evil Corp and has ties to the FSB Russian intelligence service was indicted by US authorities Thursday for the cybertheft of tens of millions of dollars.

An indictment unsealed in Pittsburgh named Maksim Yakubets and his Evil Corp partner Igor Turashev as the main figures in a group which inserted malware on computers in dozens of countries to steal more than $100 million from companies and local authorities.
