Group Canvasses Environmental Education In Lagos Schools

The Nigerian Conservation Foundation (NCF) has tasked school administrators to explore best practices in educating pupils about environmental issues.

The call was made at its yearly training for about 50 secondary school teachers in Lagos State.

Leading the call, the facilitator, Mrs. Temitope Okunnu said composting, for instance, is a great way by which student that engage in environmental practice could reduce food waste and contribute to the mitigation of Green House Gas Emissions (GHGE).

The Islamic Movement in Nigeria is to challenge the court order obtained by the federal government banning the operations of the organization.

Spokesman of the Movement, Ibrahim Musa confirmed that “we will be in court challenging the proscription”.

Tiwa Savage signs deal with Universal Music Group

Nigeria’s hot selling  singer and songwriter, Tiwa Savage has signed an international recording deal with the Universal Music Group.
Universal Music Group (UMG) is an American global music corporation and is the world leader in music-based entertainment.
The deal marked the end of her seven years contract with Mavin Records owned by renowned producer, Don Jazzy.

Group appeals to senators-elect to support Lawan

The Sustainable Democracy Agenda (SUDA), a pro-democracy group, has urged senators-elect to support the bid of Sen. Ahmad Lawan, representing Yobe North, for the position of President of the 9th Senate.

The group’s convener, Malam Ibrahim Usman, made the appeal in a statement in Abuja on Sunday.
