Amotekun: No Amount Of Police Can Stop Us – Yoruba Group

The Yoruba Worldwide Congress (YWC) has on Tuesday, declared that no amount of intimidation from Nigeria Police Force, an agency of the federal government of Nigeria can stop the existence of Western Nigeria Security Network also known as Amotekun.

THISDAY gathered that some men in uniforms stopped the ‘Amotekun’ protesters at Gani Fawehinmi Park in Ojota, Lagos on Tuesday.

But, YWC while reacting, insisted that it has drawn the battle line with the Federal Government on the creation of security outfit by South West Governors.

Over 1,000 food hampers will be delivered to families at internally displaced persons’ (IDP) camp in Nasarawa State, North Central Nigeria this week, by crowdfunding platform – Giving.ng. 

The platform which uses crowdfunding to address pressing social problems in sustainable ways working with various partners is powered by Sterling One Foundation.

Group Threatens To Sue Auchi Poly, Issues 14 Days Ultimatum

A civil society organisation, the Civil Empowerment and Rule of Law Support Initiative (CERLSI) has threatened to institute legal actions against the Management of Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi if they fail to repeal the decision to revoke admission of new students of the institution.

The Management of the institution had earlier revoked the names of students and their status in their admission portal owing to the fact that they were unable to pay their acceptance fees within a stipulated time of two weeks, while those who paid outside the two weeks ultimatum were denied registration.

Islamic Group Sends Message To Muslims, Buhari Govt

Al Ikhwaan Fillahi Muslim Society of Nigeria has urged Muslims to protect the rights of all Nigerians and speak against policies that contravene the constitution.

The group made the call in a communique issued on Sunday by its Chairman, Mr Muhammad Elunor.

US Hits Pro-Iran Group With Deadly Strikes In Iraq, Syria

The US has carried out air strikes against a pro-Iran militant group in Iraq, killing 19 fighters, two days after a rocket attack that killed an American civilian contractor.

Ochie Igbo has raised the alarm that the first Niger Bridge is at risk of collapsing.
