17th of March heralded Governor Willie Obiano’s 5 years in office.

Governor Obiano was massively and overwhelmingly voted in by Ndi Anambra state.
Ndi Anambra only wanted someone that would continue from where Obi stopped; though they knew the big shoe Obi was leaving behind would be hard to fill.

Expectations were very high, as we were already used to good governance, because we had the best of it under Former Governor Peter Obi, and the PDP Vice Presidential Candidate in the just concluded 2019 elections.

Congolese journalist imprisoned for insulting governor

A reporter named Steeve Mwanyo Iwewe, who works with the privately owned broadcaster Radio Television Sarah, was convicted on March 1 in the Mbandaka criminal court on a charge of insulting Équateur Governor Bobo Boloko Bolumbu.

According to a statement signed by Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) and distributed by APO Group noted that authorities in the Democratic Republic of Congo should not oppose journalist Iwewe’s appeal of a year-long prison sentence for insulting a provincial governor, the Committee to Protect Journalists said on Friday.

No jubilation in Abia as Ikpeazu re-emerges governor-elect

Abia state governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu has succeeded in his second term reelection bid. He was announced the winner of the 2015 Abia governorship election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) with 261,127 votes representing 59 percent of the 444,376 total votes cast. It was expected to that the battle for Abia government house would be a very tough one but it turned out that the incumbent governor dusted his opponents easily.

INEC declares Ihedioha Imo governor-elect

Former Deputy Speaker and governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Emeka Ihedioha has been declared the winner of the keenly contested Imo State governorship election by the State Returning Officer,  Prof. Francis Otunta.

Ihedioha polled a total number of 273404 to defeat his closest rival and candidate of the Action Alliance (AA), Uche Nwosu.

The candidates of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), and All Progressives Congress (APC), Ifeanyi Araraume and Hope Uzodinma scored 114676 and 96458 votes respectively.

Governor Okorocha blows hot, threatens to expose APC

Following his suspension  from the All Progressives Congress over anti-party activities by the party hierarchy led by Comrade Adams Oshiomole, Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State, is threatening to expose the corruption the party is involved in if he is not recalled soon.

Okorocha warns, “I’ll expose how APC rigged 2019 Presidential election and I’ll join PDP in court to prove it.”

Griot Studios Ltd and Amateur Heads Productions with Bem Pever, Ishaya Bako, Kemi ‘Lala’ Akindoju and Ummi A. Yakubu serving as Producers are set to release a new movie titled 4th Republic in cinemas across Nigeria from April 2019.

The movie, which is written by Emil B. Garuba and Zainab Omaki, follows the story of Mabel King (Kate Henshaw), a gubernatorial candidate who races to become Nigeria’s first female governor but is caught up around a heavily marred election.
