Gov Emmanuel Extends Curfew As Protest Turns Violent

Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State has extended the curfew imposed on the state to 7am tomorrow (Saturday) to ensure full return to normalcy.

Emmanuel announced the extension in a statement issued on Friday in Uyo by the state Commissioner for Information, Mr Ini Ememobong, and made available to newsmen.

Recall that the curfew declared earlier by the governor was to elapse by midday Friday.

The governor said the extension followed the unlawful activities of the End SARS protesters, which led to the disruption of economic activities in the state.

Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State has cautioned politicians in the State to desist from heating up the polity with 2023 succession plans.

He noted that such a move was a tool of distraction which would affect the government in delivering on its campaign promises.

Gov. Emmanuel stated this on Wednesday in his broadcast speech tagged, ’33 YEARS OF GOD’S FAVOUR AND GRACE!’to commemorate the 33 year anniversary of the State.’
