Sanwo-Olu Unveils 7 New Roads In Oniru-Victoria Island Axis

It is a huge traffic relief for residents and road users around Iru and Victoria Island axes of Lagos State, as Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Thursday, unveiled Victoria Island-Lekki Traffic Circulation Project in which seven gridlock-prone roads were completely re-designed and re-constructed with concrete slabs.

The improved roads are within the commercial areas of Iru and Victoria Island. The Victoria Island-Lekki Traffic Circulation Project was delivered through Public Infrastructure Improvement Partnership (PIIP) framework, under which the State Government collaborated with Access Bank Plc and Planet Projects Limited to bring the project to reality.

Lagos Govt Meets With Uber, Taxify Operators, Gives New Directives

The Lagos State government on Friday met with the major cab-hailing operators in the state.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu chaired the meeting which was held at the Lagos House in Marina.

According to Sanwo-Olu’s Special Assistant on Media, Jubril Gawat, eight key resolutions were agreed by all parties.

Some of them include comprehensive insurance cover for drivers and passengers, reduction on operational licensing fees by 20%, amongst others.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has been named the chairman of the 104-member All Progressives Congress( APC) National Campaign Council for Ondo State Governorship Election

Governor Mai Mala Buni, the Chairman of the Caretaker National Convention Planning Committee of the party announced members of the council today.

The Governor of Plateau State, Simon Lalong will serve as deputy chairman, while Comrade Mustapha Salihu will serve as Secretary.

The partial closure of the 11.8km Third Mainland Bridge begins from the evening today, with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu declaring that his government is ready to manage its effect.

Concerned residents of Moloney, Obalende and motorists operating at the Obalende Motor Park in Lagos have appealed to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to order the evacuation of a corpse floating in the canal nearby.

The five-week lockdown imposed by the Federal Government on Lagos State and two other states to combat Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) will be eased on Monday, but Lagos State Government has asked all its civil servants not to resume for work immediately.
