Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State who is also a  PDP presidential aspirant has opened up about the importance of voting in the right individuals while advising his party’s delegates in Lagos State not to mortgage the future of their children and that of the country by voting wrong aspirant in PDP presidential primary.

As things got heated up in Sokoto State yesterday, Governor Aminu Tambuwal was forced to impose a 24 hours curfew to contain the rising protests across township streets over alleged religious blasphemy and the death of Deborah Samuel, a student of one of the Colleges of Education in the State who was recently lynched for blasphemy.

Governor Tambuwal, in a broadcast had beckoned on the people to remain indoors as security operatives were being deployed to safeguard lives and properties.

Mixed reactions have greeted the ₦500 million donation by Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike to Sokoto State.

One Dies, 3 Others Injured In Stampede For Gov Tambuwal’s Cash

A stampede for the monetary gift doled out by Governor Aminu Tambuwal in Sokoto on Friday has led to tragedy after a policeman shot dead one person.

The policeman also injured three others.

The shooter, a police sergeant, identified as Bello Garba, was promptly arrested by the Sokoto Police Command.

His victims have also been identified.

Bello killed 25-year-old Aminu Abdulrahman and injured Junaidu Abba, Babangida Muhammad and Awaisu Alti, during the incident at Sultan Bello Jumu’at mosque, in Sokoto.
