Jandor Urges Jonathan Not To Run For 2027 Presidency

Dr. Abdul-Azeez Adediran, also known as Jandor, has warned former President Goodluck Jonathan against contesting the 2027 presidential election, saying a bid would involve serious political risk. 

Speaking in Lagos on Sunday in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria, Jandor said Jonathan would likely be “reduced to a minnow” by incumbent President Bola Tinubu at the polls. He added that those encouraging Jonathan to run were deceiving him and that the former president should remain in retirement.

Ahead of the 2023 general elections, former President of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan has called on young people to reject those trying to divide the country with ethnic and religious politics ahead of the 2023 elections.

He made this call on Saturday giving a speech in Owerri at the 80th birthday symposium of Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu.

Again, Jonathan, Buhari Hold Closed-Door Meeting In Abuja

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday received his predecessor, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, in his office at the Presidential Villa, Abuja as they held a closed-door meeting.

The former president came into Aso Rock at about 4 pm but it is was however unclear what the duo discussed as Jonathan did not speak to journalists after the meeting.

As it stands, the presidency has yet to disclose the agenda of the meeting. The ex-President had been working as ECOWAS special envoy to Mali, a position that has brought him in more regular contact with President Buhari in recent times.
