Human Trafficking: Immigration ‘Arrest 7 Girls’

The Operatives of Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA), Command in Lagos, have apprehended seven girls allegedly being trafficked.

The Service Public Relations Officer, Mr Sunday James made the disclosure in a statement to NAN on Sunday.

James said the girls were on their way to Cairo, Dubai and Oman on Emirates and Egypt airlines.

According to him, three of the girls were on Emirates airline to Dubai, while four were aboard Egypt airline to Cairo and Oman.

How NSCDC Rescued Four Girls From Being Trafficked To Mali

The Lagos State Command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has rescued four girls that were meant to be trafficked to Mali.

The Lagos Commandant of NSCDC, Mr Cyprian Otoibhi, while briefing newsmen on Thursday in Lagos, said the victims were rescued on Jan. 15 at 9.20 pm at No13 Abuke Oku Street, Iyana Ipaja.

According to the commandant, the victims were recruited by one Miss Micheal Omowunmi, who has spent two years in Mali, and one Mr Favour Owoke, who is at large.

SA: Bodies Of 2 Northern Cape Girls Found In Unused Freezer

Police in Northern Cape are investigating following the discovery of the bodies of two young girls in a deep freezer on Monday.

The two friends, aged four and five, were reported missing on Sunday in Bankhara.

Jobless man sentenced to prison for touching girl’s breasts

An Igbosere Magistrates’ Court in Lagos on Wednesday sentenced an unemployed man, Ilias Mudashiru, to six months imprisonment for touching a girl’s breast in decently and stabbing her relatives.

Magistrate F. O. Sasanya convicted Mudashiru, 29, following his plea of “guilty” to a three-count charge of conspiracy, indecent assault and assault occasioning harm.

The offences contravened Sections 173, 263 (i) and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

She sentenced Mudashiru after listening to the review of facts given by prosecuting Sergeant Godspower Ehizoba.
