Ghanaian Hip-hop recording artist, Michael Owusu Addo professionally known as Sarkodie has slammed the Ghanaian government over its plan to build a new parliament, which will cost about N72 billion ($200m).

Sarkodie in his reaction described the move of the proposed new Parliamentary complex as a misplaced priority considering that the country and her citizens are facing lots of challenges.

Why Ghanaian authority pulls out of MoU with CRCC – Nigeria

Less than three months after it signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the China Railway Construction Corporation (international) Nigeria Limited,  the Ghanaian Ministry of Railways Development has pulled out of the deal.

Announcing the development in Accra, the Ghanaian capital, the ministry cited alleged breach of confidentiality as reason for the action.

The withdrawal, it was learnt, was triggered by a report titled: “CRCC to construct 560km railway line for $2bn – same cost as 156 Klm Lagos-Ibadan rail.”

Alledged oil theft: Navy apprehends Ghanaian, 8 Beninoise

The Navy said yesterday that it had arrested nine foreign nationals alongside two boats and seven trucks, for alleged stolen Petrol Motor Spirit (PMS), near Atlas Cove in Lagos.

The Commander, Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) BEECROFT, Commodore Ibrahim Shettima, who briefed reporters in Apapa, Lagos, said the arrest happened between May 10 and 12 at Atlas Cove Island and Nigeria- Benin Republic  border.
