INEC To Correct General Election Error With Bayelsa, Kogi

At the end of a two-day seminar on the preparedness of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the November 16 governorship elections in Kogi and Bayelsa States, the commission said the two elections would correct the mistakes in the 2019 general election and set a new standard for future elections.

This is coming as stakeholders from Kogi and Bayelsa States have listed violence, vote-buying and manipulation of youths as some of the issues that would determine the outcome of the polls in the two states.

Facebook probe by U.S. Expands To 47 Attorneys General

An antitrust investigation into Facebook ramped up on Tuesday with the announcement that 47 state attorneys general from across the U.S. have joined the New York-led probe.

The New York Attorney-General, Letitia James, said in a statement in New York.

Those chief legal officers of states and territories “are all concerned that Facebook may have put consumer data at risk, reduced the quality of consumers’ choices, and increased the price of advertising,’’ James said.

She added that the inquiry aims to “determine whether Facebook’s actions stifled competition and put users at risk.”

Mr Olajide Oduyoye Emerges LASTMA New General Manager

Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has appointed Mr Olajide Oduyoye as the new General Manager of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA).

The LASTMA Public Relations Officer, Mr Olumide Filade, made this known in a statement made available to newsmen in Lagos on Sunday.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Oduyoye replaced Mr Olawale Musa, who has since been elevated to the position of Permanent Secretary in the state’s Transportation Ministry.

Filade said that Oduyoye had assumed duty at the LASTMA Headquarters in Oshodi.
